Could there be aliens among us?  The Phobos Life Experiment will provide some information on the types of life that may be able to survive interplanetary transfer.

Can’t have too many robots.

The EU-sponsored I-SWARM project is looking at the possibility of using small robots functioning in a cooperative swarm to provide repair support to Mars missions (as well as others).  The idea is to compensate for harsh conditions with high-redundancy and task distribution.
